When these arrived I immediately set up one for The Feline Executive Committee TM. Jake the self appointed mess maker and a diabetic cat would empty the cat version of the Drinkwell fountain with the large reservoir in about two days. Of the 12 member of the The Feline Executive Committee Jake is the only cat that makes a mess when drinking water. He drinks both out of the fountain stream and from the side of the bowl. When he drinks from the side of the bowl he laps the water over the edge causing most of the water to end up on the floor. So far he has not been able to do that with the Big-Dog Fountain. The Bid-Dog bowl design has a lower water level so now he just drinks out of the water stream.
