The responsibility of assisting in testing new products falls on the shoulders of The Feline Executive Committee TM. The committee consists of 11 felines that take their job of soiling the litter boxes seriously. Additionally one of the 11 is a regulated diabetic so he counts as one additional cat when it comes to the litter box. As the chairman of the committee I am tasked with cleaning the many litter boxes. We will do our best to abuse the ScoopWell litter scoop to see just how tough it is. If we find that it meets our expectations we will add it to the catalog.

The ScoopWell should take a pretty good beating and provide the user with many years of service. The handle is very comfortable to use. As you can imagine cleaning all those litter boxes is a daily chore. The first thing I noticed is the screens didn't allow the litter to flow out as quickly as with a normal style of litter scoops, but that is to be expected. The use of screens inherently creates a restriction to the litter flow. The trade off is the ScoopWell does a much better than job of screening out those little litter fragments that always seem to be left behind, but it often took two siftings to get most all of them. This is still better than having to use the edge of the scoop to pick out individual pieces. The stainless steel scraper does an excellent job of getting all the litter off the bottom of the pan; although, as with every other litter scoops I have used as second pass to scrape the bottom of the pan is needed get it all. This feature should work well with those of you that use Sweat Scoop litter. I did find that the litter pushed between the plastic housing and the stainless steel scraper. The scoop still functioned fine, but if the litter isn't cleaned out the housing litter could continue to build up and cause the housing to seperate from the scraper or break.
Recommendations
For someone with lots of litter boxes I don't recommend the ScoopWell unless you have lots of time to kill. Not for those in a hurry. If you only have one or two litter boxes to clean the ScoopWell is a very good litter scoop and should work well. The ScoopWell should work very well with fine granule litters.
Possible drawbacks
Allowing litter to build up between the scraper and the housing holding it in place could possibly damage the scoop.
The stainless steel scraper is sharp on the edges and can tear litter pan liners with very little effort, but again any cheap plastic scoop will do the same.
The long handle may cause problems for litter boxes in small confined spaces and the enclosed "privy" style boxes.
In addition to ThePurrZone we run a professional pet sitting business that specializes in cats. We will be sending the ScoopWell out to different clients for their opinions.
