In 1999 we started a pet sitting business taking care of cats with special needs. As our business grew we noticed a trend—that cat owners typically invested in two types of items—cat décor for their homes and—toys and cat-related products.

We also notice that many of the toys and products would break shortly after purchase, would be quickly destroyed by the cats, or just end up collecting dust because the cats didn’t find it interesting.

In 2003 we started ThePurrZone. Initially we offered our clients pet-themed home décor items at discounted prices while we put our 11 cats, the feline executive committee, to work evaluating toys and products for safety, durability, and “does a cat find the toy or product interesting.” ThePurrZone staff and the Feline Executive Committee are constantly evaluating products that—if approved by ThePurrZone staff and the Feline Executive Committee—are offered for sale here at ThePurrZone.
